I’ve been thinking about starting blog post series for women for a while now, but never got round to it for various reasons. Actually, just one – I tend to overthink things and then decide not to do it. If you are a perfectionist like me, you know exactly what I’m talking about. I always have tons of ideas but they get buried under the blanket of uncertainty and my own conclusion that nobody will be interested in what I have to offer or say. But then, if I don’t try, I will never know, right? At the end of the day, I have nothing to lose and if I can inspire and motivate even a small group of women, it will make me happy.
My goal is to get the message across that EVERY woman is in control of her own life and destiny (and everyone in general, for that matter). EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. No exception. I know it sounds simple, but for many of us it seems almost impossible. I know exactly how it feels because I’ve been there before and not once or twice… In fact, the same feeling of ‘impossible’ comes back now and again, but now I know how to deal with it and move forward.
“There’s no need
to be perfect to inspire others.
Let people get inspired by how you deal
with your imperfections.”
Being a perfectionist can make your life so much more difficult than it needs to be and the truth is, it only matters to you – no one else. No one cares about those bits of your artwork, your makeup, hair etc. you didn’t get quite right, because nobody ever notices anything until you start talking about it. And even then it won’t matter and in return will only emphasise your own insecurities. No, I’m not suggesting you stop being a perfectionist as it won’t happen overnight anyway, but I believe that perfectionism is derived from the fear of failure, the fear of being judged by other people, especially those whose opinion matters to us most. That fear is paralysing and stops us from achieving more in life, from pursuing our dreams, from growing and just being happy. All of it stems from a single problem – lack of CONFIDENCE. And that’s what I’ll be focusing on in my blog post series – inspiring other women to become more confident through my own experiences and what I’ve learnt from them.
